Our Worship

Our worship services bear a joyful and festive character because central to all of our worship activities is the conviction that WE SERVE A RISEN SAVIOUR! He has risen from the dead and calls us to live in the power of His resurrection.

Each Sunday our ministers proclaim the Good News from God's Word, the Bible. They instruct us in the confessions of our church and, throughout the year, administer the Holy Sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper. Our ministers are well educated and ordained to preach the Good News and to care for the flock of our Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ. They are under the supervision of the Church Council.

Our interpretation of God's Word is summarized in the Educational Creeds of the Christian Church, namely the Apostles's Creed, the Nicene Creed and the Athanasian Creed. The creeds and other expressions of our Reformed faith are printed in our hymn book.

Music Ministries

"Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs."
Psalm 100:1,2

Our congregation loves to sing. We are aided by talented organists, pianists and other musicians. As well, there are various music groups in the CrossPoint CRC community:

Praise Team Helps lead the 11 o'clock service in worship and praise. The team consists of mixed singers accompanied by piano, guitar and drums. Practices are held Tuesday evenings.
Covenant Singers Leads the 9am services in song on the last Sunday of the month. The team consists of mixed singers accompanies by piano and guitar. Practices are held the Tuesday prior to the worship service.
Seasonal Choir Occasionally throughout the year, a choir is called together to add to the Music Ministry. Practice is 6 weeks before the performance.
Drama In it's infancy, but greatly appreciated, drama is occasionally used during the worship throughout the year.
Visual Arts Used to enhance the visually creative aspect of worship, banners are created and hung in the Sanctuary.  These works of art reflect service themes, sacramental themes, as well the season themes of Christmas and Advent.
